Hi,

There's an update for WMI Vista/2008

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954563

but I do NOT see it offered from WindowsUpdate when running on Vista
x86. I believe it is offered on Windows Server 2008. Apparently, it's
from way back in September 2008.

My question is, why is it not being offered for Vista?

Hello Gerry

KB954563 is not offered in Windows Server 2008 Windows Update either.
KB954563 is actually a hotfix. Hotfixes are not in Windows Update until
they are mature enough. According to the technet article
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335033.aspx
KB954563 will be packed into WS2008 SP2 and Vista SP2. See the attached
worksheet for details.
